last day of 2007

31st December 2007. Another year has come and gone, and how have I spent my time this year?

I can say that well, I most prob wasted this year. The 1st 3 months were spent doing nothing. Just slacking at home. Then when I gained admission into SRJC, I thought I'd had the opportunity to complete my A levels, go to a Uni, then have my dream job.

But things dont always go the way you want them to.

I screwed up the whole term. Failing test after test. Skipping meals and falling asleep in classes and reaching home very late and waking up very early. Thats why I dont want to ever go back to a JC again.

Then after I withdrew in Oct, thought I'd get a job to earn some money. But till now, I'm like still searching for a job. Perfect.

Dont feel like blogging already. Bye.

Christmas!

Its the festive season! Celebrating Christmas is always so much fun, maybe cause of the gifts, but no lah, Christmas isn't all about gifts. Ok, shall not preach here.

So today we had a Christmas lunch at Expo, together with Mother Church and all the other 'branches'. Lunch was uh, not bad. Cause it wasn't quite filling. Got hungry after awhile. Hungry monster is getting out. :)

Then later in the afternoon we went back to church to do our gift exchange, it was a random gift exchange where we took another person's gift in exchange for our own. Ok, dont know how to describe it, my English is getting suckier and suckier, judging from my language used here. And so I took a gift wrapped in yellow wrapping paper, and guess what it was? A soup mug with lid. Perfect! I like! I gave the same gift as a year ago, a box of gourmet chocolates, which was taken by Kae Ru. Hope ya like it!

The gifts which I bought with Wei Liang, were also given out, pity some were not there, like Herlina and family. Then many people ask me, why I teamed up with Wei Liang to buy them gifts, well, it was his idea, mine was only to get something for the kids, but he suggested geting something for everybody, so there!

And tomorrow there's carolling! And another gift exchange where we will buy something for a special person, whom is decided by drawing lots. Shan't tell you all who I'm buying for, maybe tomorrow ya. And I think I know who is getting something for me. Hope I'm right. :)

Hm ya, my English is getting from bad to worse. Cant write as well as before. Help!

why students fail

It's not the fault of student if he/she fails because the year ONLY has 365 days... typical academic year for a student:

1. Sundays - 52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest. Days left 313.

2. Summer holidays - 50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study. Days left 263.

3. 8 hours daily sleep - 130 days GONE. Days left 141.

4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days. Days left 126.

5. 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing properly & swallowing) - means 30 days. Days left 96.

6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal) - means 15 days. Days left 81.

7. Exam days - per year at least 35 days. Days left 46.

8. Quarterly, half yearly and festival (holidays) - 40 days. Days left 6.

9. For sickness - at least 3 days. Days left 3.

10. Movies and functions- at least 2 days. 1 day left.

11. That 1 day is your birthday. How can you study on that day ?!?!?!?!?! Balance = 0

Amazing love

The church camp which I went and just returned from was one of the most meaningful, fun packed, exciting and engaging one I ever had. I and my church bro and sis and some super small and cute kids spent the last few days at the chalet @ Aloha, just beside the sea. Beautiful view, both in the day and evening.

Many good things happened during the camp and I also experienced God's grace, something we dont deserve but were so gracefully given to. Like we had wonderful weather, perfect for our outdoor games and activities, not to warm and cold. Another thing was that the sky was downcast on Friday evening, when we were about to have our BBQ dinner. And all the food were already prepared and couldn't keep. With faith (FAITH, thats the name of my group), we just went along and prayed hard that it wouldn't rain if not the food would be wasted and we wouldn't have food to eat. But thanks be to God! Not only did it not rain, but also brought along a cooling breeze to cool those who were BBQing the food, like ME! :)

A tribute to the BBQers; Me, who did the chicken wings, Benjamin the butter boy, Samuel who burned the beef and pork, Jerry for feeding the BBQers, Wei Liang for I think the fish, didn't take note of him. And also Gou Wei for cooling us off with cups and cups of some dilute drink. :)

And I was also part of the camp committee; I was IC for F&B. Hey, very impt for camps where there is an army of boys and gals to feed. Ok lah, I didn't prepare the food, only took charge of the portions, and their meals basically.

We also had a BBQ dinner, twice in a row! One on Friday and Saturday night! Ooo, now I'm sick of BBQ...
I did the BBQing of the chicken wings, and wow! Were they in sky high demand! The kids were like crowding around me and saying: "Andrew koko, can I have chicken wing?" Demand was greater than the supply, and so, the kids had to wait for a very long long time. Too bad kids. Had a great time though. The fun in BBQ is the BBQing the food, serving the food to the kids and having them come back for more, with their oily fingers, greasy lips and bright shiny eyes, they are toooo cute to ignore!

So just to let all of you all know what we did there:

The 1st day was just basically settling down, with a sermon in the evening and ending off with group sharing. I was sharing with my group FAITH, which consisted of Ho Wei Liang, Rudy, Kae Xuan, Zhi Xian, Laurel, Wei Bin, Joshua, Chin Ting, Yu Min, En Ting and yours sincerely, about how thankful I was for able to join this camp without and disruption caused by external factors, like my job hunting. So maybe God held me off in finding a job until this camp was over and guess what? There's an interview for me tomorrow, just right after we broke camp today! To me, this is all in God's time. And I just have to trust and obey. Later, we had a light supper and it was time to go to dreamland. Zzzzzzz.

A new day! The 2nd day was maybe the highlight of the camp, where we had games in the afternoon, some telematch, and how funny was it to see the kids play! So cute! In the evening we had a tram ride @ Night Safari. The kids went high the moment they heard we were going out. So was I, hehe, there's a kid in everyone of us. Ok, at least I didn't sleep throughout the tram ride. Buddied Wei Xiang and took him around.

Another new day! 3rd day was even better, we had to prepare for special night, some event where we had to put up a short skit on the theme: Amazing Love. My group only had a few adults, Rudy and Wei Liang had to go settle some admin stuff, Chin Ting was MIA. So left me and Laurel, and only that day I realised how though it was to get some kids to settle down. They were like running all around and disturbing each other. But whew! The skit was decided to be played at camp level, where all of us will work together to come up with our skit. The skit is about this beautiful girl (starring Kae Ru) who longed for love, but only found wordly love, love with strings attached. Her 'friends' excluded her and the guys bullied her. Hehe, I played the pai kia. Shouted at her and pushed her away to get lost (acting only). Bet Kae Ru got a rude shock, cause we did rehearse at all, and I think she was expecting me to only push her walking stick away( she's blind). Feels so good the play the bad guy. In the end, she tried to kamakazi but failed. She lost her legs, eyesight and an arm, and was left with only 3 fingers . The she found God and his love and continued living strong as a Christian. So end of story. Then we had our BBQ dinner. I felt real bad for shouting at Kae Ru, and so to make up, I BBQed about 20 chicken wings for her. Good thing she accepted it. Then again, wash up and Zzzzz.

4th day! We went out to different parts of Singapore for our "treasure hunt". we were supposed to go to 4 places, but only went to 3 due to lack of time. Then in the evening, BBQ again! sian. This time, we ate until 1030, packed up some stuff, sent the stuff home and returned again at 12 to BBQ again. Me, Ben and Joseph ate until 330 am. Then by the time we cleared up, 430 am. And we had to like check out the next day at 9am. Sleepy.

So today we broke camp, headed to AKH to pack stuff, and went home.

Back to my broing no life.

I want another camp. Please!!!!

yay! Got my new specs today, now I look like a complete geek. :(

Dizzy spell set in soon after I wore my new specs, due to the increase in degree, so now whatever I see, I see something like sprials and waves. oh oh.

And I'm going for church camp tomorrow, till Sunday. Look forward to it. :)

Have to go back to SR to collect my leaving cert, which I was supposed to collect it um like 2 weeks ago? Dont care lah, what can they do to me? Give me fair conduct grade ah? Lol.

Okie, back to watching Mr. Bean's Holiday. Beeeeean!

as good as blind

awww, broke my specs today. And now I am as good as blind. Then how am I typing this? Ha, well, using my swimming goggles to see. Got degree; my goggles. So anyway, dunno how I made it outta my room and house to go make a new pair. Nearly died. Couldn't clearly see beyond my hands.

Its a wonder I'm still alive. Nearly got rammed downed by a car when I was crossing the road, saw the car, but couldn't see if it was moving or stationary.

Then, BEEP!!!!! The car was a few inches away from snapping my legs. whew!
When I reached TP, I couldn't really see, so, I wore my goggles for a brief moment and took a look around. Every now and then I'd wear my goggles and see where was I. Damn pai say.

Went into a specs shop and ask for a eye check, yup, my eyesight increased again by abit. My dream job is drifting further and further away. So anyway, made a new pair of specs, tried to make my way home, and made it.

And on the way home, I slipped and fell at the stairs, my back hitting the edge of the staircase, which was made of metal, but thank God I'm not paralysed. but back hurts like hell. cant bend down too much. :(

Unleashed

Saw this movie today, Unleashed, which was released in I think 2006? The movie is on about this gangster who rids his rivals, debtors, and anyone he dislikes with the help of his 'human dog', Danny (Jet Li). He has been trained to attack and kill when his collar is taken off. Sadly, Danny knows little of the real human world, knows no feelings, only knowing that he has to obey his 'master' Bart.

The turning point of Danny's life begins when he meets a blind piano tuner and his stepdaughter, who so kindly introduces him to the humanity he has never known before. Liked the part where Victoria took Danny out for ice-cream, and how they both learn about human life, love and the power of music.

Too bad, Bart wants his ultimate weapon back and begins a manhunt for Danny. And turns out that Bart killed Danny's mother in the past. So, Danny fights back, to protect his new family and bury his hideous past.

Great show. Loved it. Its not like other violent movies, this one really makes you think.

Oops, I farted.

Yesterday on the way home from Bedok, I was on the escalator and there was this small girl behind me. She was quite short and so directly in front of her face is my ass. I was on the way up when suddenly without any warning, I let go of some gases. Quite loud, some people sure heard it. I turned around and looked at the girl.

She looked at me with a disgusted look on her face, then she looked at her mom, her mom looked back at her, then both looked at me. Damn pai say, I turned around and sort of like ran away, Shucks. :)

1 year old and spoilt

Yay! My laptop's back! Just collected it from the service centre today, that's why no blogging over the past few days. Hm okie lets see, what happened when my laptop was away.

And today is my laptop's birthday! Bought it on 3rd Dec 2006 at SITEX last year. Everybody say "Happy Birthday Lappie!" :)

Hm, nothing much happened, still looking for a job. Worse come worse, of by Jan 2008 I still can't find a job, then maybe I'll work at Macs. Lously pay I know, but better than nothing right?
Ate at Macs on Sunday with Wei Liang and the kids, then went to expo for SITEX. Supposed to meet my frends at 130, but reached there abit late, 3pm. So, they PS me..... :(

And its so crowded there! Can't stretch my arms out front without someone shouting molest.

Wanted to buy a mouse, portable external HDD and some other stuff, but got limited budget, so just bought a Logitech wireless mouse for $49. There was another booth selling the same mouse at $52. But luckily, Wei Liang brought me to another shop, but actually, the retail price when I checked at Funan and Sim Lim were also $49. Thought they slashed the price or something.

Then at 8 went to meet Kelly at Suntec for dinner, then walked around, window shopping. My legs were about to die from all the standing at SITEX, and my stomach was bursting form eating some dunno what 'hero' meal. Went into some perfume shop and I NEARLY DIED! The stench was so strong that I couldn't breath, wonder why some people spray that disgusting liquid on themselves. yucks!

And today I was supposed to pay $50 for the laptop repairs, cause warrenty does not cover software issues, but, in the end, they did not charge me a cent! yay! saved $50. lol.

Bought Battlefield 2 the complete set; cause I know that I wont be able to find a job so easily, so just sitting at home playing it now, beats rotting on the bed, looking up towards the sky (celling) waiting for $$$ to drop. oooo, how wonderful the feeling is, wasting yourself away...
